Hi! I’m Ellie, and I’m the face - and the hands - behind Cicada Silver. A couple years ago after randomly signing up for a soldering 101 class, I was hooked — I felt so deeply that this undiscovered path was one I needed to take. I’ve never been creative; my sense of perfectionism has been somewhat of a hinderance in my ability to just let art happen. Over the last year or so Cicada has become a part of my story in a way that I hope these pieces of jewelry will become a part of yours. Representing who I am through sterling silver is not something I ever thought would be important to me, but since creating Cicada I have found it to be a beautiful way to love and appreciate myself even more.

Having grown up on both the east and west coasts, and now residing in Colorado, I focus on choosing stones and designs that feel organic, raw and make me feel closer to nature.

Every piece you find at Cicada is fully imagined, designed, and handmade by me. These pieces are an honest mix of curiosity, experimentation, a little fearlessness, and most definitely some true grit. I hope these pieces bring you the same feelings of excitement and fulfillment that they bring me.
